Blockhead Odyssey Metals
Dusts, Nuggets, Ingots, Alloys & Forge Flux
How the Metal System Works
On Blockhead Odyssey, ores can drop special metal dusts. You refine those into nuggets, then ingots, and finally into advanced alloys like Steel and Bronze using Forge Flux.
Dusts – Extra Drops from Ores
When you mine certain blocks, you have a chance to receive themed metal dusts in addition to the normal vanilla drop. These are the foundation of the entire system.
| Block Mined | Dust | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Nether Quartz Ore | Iron Dust | Extra iron while farming quartz in the Nether. |
| Ancient Debris | Copper Dust | Small chance during Netherite runs. |
| Redstone Ore | Aluminum Dust | Standard overworld redstone. |
| Deepslate Redstone Ore | Neodymium Dust | Deep redstone veins = late-game rare-earth metal. |
| Copper Ore | Tin Dust | Copper veins double as tin sources. |
| Coal Ore | Lead Dust | Lead appears with coal. |
| Emerald Ore | Magnesium Dust | Mountain emerald veins. |
| Diamond Ore | Cobalt Dust | High-value cobalt from regular diamonds. |
| Deepslate Diamond Ore | Titanium Dust | Deep diamond = Titanium. |
| Iron Ore | Nickel Dust | Fits real-world geology. |
| Deepslate Iron Ore | Tungsten Dust | Deep iron veins. |
| Gold Ore | Silver Dust | Any overworld gold. |
| Lapis Ore | Zinc Dust | Standard lapis. |
| Deepslate Lapis Ore | Chromium Dust | Deep blue veins. |
| Sand / Red Sand | Salt | Excavating beaches & deserts. |
| Netherrack | Sulfate Dust | Low chance while clearing Nether terrain. |
Nuggets – First Refinement Stage
Smelt metal dusts in a Furnace or Blast Furnace to obtain nuggets. Iron Dust becomes the vanilla Iron Nugget; all other dusts produce custom nuggets like Aluminum, Cobalt, Titanium, etc.
- Smelt dust → nugget in any furnace.
- Blast Furnace refines dusts faster.
- Nuggets are used for compact storage and crafting ingots.
Nuggets → Ingots
Most custom metals follow the classic 9-to-1 pattern.
9 Nuggets → 1 Ingot
1 Ingot → 9 Nuggets
Ingots – Core Currency of the Metal System
Once you convert nuggets to ingots, you’re holding the main “currency” for higher-tier crafting, shops, and tech on Blockhead Odyssey.
- Standard ingots: Aluminum, Tin, Lead, Zinc, Nickel, Silver.
- Advanced ingots: Cobalt, Tungsten, Titanium, Chromium, Neodymium, Magnesium.
- Special ingots: Steel and Bronze (see the Alloys tab).
Alloys – Steel & Bronze
Alloys are created by combining base metals with Forge Flux in large batches and then smelting the resulting admixture buckets.
Steel Admixture & Steel Ingots
Craft a Steel Admixture (Bucket) in a crafting table, then smelt it in a Blast Furnace:

Bronze Admixture & Bronze Ingots
Bronze uses Copper and Tin instead of Iron and Coal, plus Forge Flux and a bucket, then smelted in a Blast Furnace:

Forge Flux – The Heart of Alloy Crafting
Forge Flux is a special reagent used to refine molten metal in Steel and Bronze admixtures. You’ll need a steady supply of it if you plan to run any serious alloy operation.
Forge Flux Recipe
Crafted in a normal crafting table using beach/Nether byproducts:
- Coal
- Blaze Powder
- Salt (from Sand/Red Sand)
- Sulfate Dust (from Netherrack)
